LEBANON NATIONAL PRAYER DINNER

Bringing Leaders Together Across Lebanon's Divides

In 2025, International Cedars Ministry played a catalytic role in launching the first Lebanon National Prayer Dinner at Casino du Liban in Beirut.

Approximately 600 people came together, including political, business, community, cultural, and faith leaders from Lebanon and guests from the United States, Europe, and around the Middle East.

Most significantly, the gathering included representatives from all 17 of Lebanon’s recognized religious communities—an extraordinary expression of relationship and unity in a country where religious and political divisions have shaped much of its modern history.

A Different Kind of Gathering

The Lebanon National Prayer Dinner is built around a simple idea:

Relationships can cross boundaries that politics and institutions often cannot.

The gathering creates a space where people with very different backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives can sit together, listen to one another, develop friendships, reflect, and pray for Lebanon and its people.

It is not about asking everyone to agree.

It is about recognizing our shared humanity, strengthening relationships, and creating opportunities for reconciliation, understanding, and peace.

Inspired by a Tradition of Prayer and Relationship

The Lebanon National Prayer Dinner draws inspiration from the tradition of prayer gatherings that began in Washington DC in the first half of the 20th Century, bringing leaders together across political, cultural, and religious differences.

The inaugural Lebanon National Prayer Dinner demonstrated the extraordinary potential of this approach in Lebanon. Leaders who might seldom find themselves together shared the same room, the same tables, and a common desire for a more peaceful and hopeful future.

Looking Ahead

The Lebanon National Prayer Dinner is intended to become an annual gathering and an important part of ICM’s broader work of building relationships among leaders.

But the Dinner is not an end in itself.

The relationships created there continue throughout the year through smaller gatherings, personal meetings, mentoring, prayer, fellowship, and connections between Lebanese and international leaders.

One gathering can open a door.
One relationship can build a bridge.
And many bridges can help change a nation.
